I was born with no promise.
My mother was not even a year old,
She was homeless and struggling to shelter and feed us.
We didn't know if the Tom Cat that impregnated her carried the feline aids virus.
We were covered in ringworm and no one cared.
Unless my mum was desexed, the cycle would start again - she could have become pregnant again before I was even weaned.
People walked past us every day
One day someone stopped.
